Bishop

Well carved figure of a Bishop which still retains the original polychrome decoration. As these figures usually originated in churches they were generally repainted at regular intervals. It is therefore extremely nice to find an untouched example..

A fine two drawer bombe shaped commode in the Louis XV style.

An exceptional and rare penwork tilt top table.

Decorated in the Greek revival style and reflecting the Regency designs of Thomas Hope and George Smith. The top, bearing a gilded figure wearing a laurel crown, is reminiscent of engravings by John Flaxman. The applied brass decorations and feet are original.

A good wine cistern attributed to Gillows of Lancaster.

With the initials IL stamped into the stand. With original metal work and lion head handles. Supported on a four legged base with quarter bracket supports and brass casters. Fine condition
