Raised Work Mirror
During the 17th century mirror glass was a luxury item and as such was often decorated with elaborate embroidery. This example has wonderful detailed images, exquisitely stitched, including figures of the King and Queen facing each other and placed under a canopied dais.
Framed within a tortoiseshell mount and protected by a later tortoiseshell frame.
