The Luke Lloyd Panel

An important and magnificent raised work embroidery depicting scenes from the story of Judith and Holofernes. Worked with coloured silks and metallic threads, employing many different stitching techniques and an example of professional embroidery of the period.
Research has identifed the coat of arms as those of Luke Lloyd of the Bryn in the parish of Hanmer, Flintshire, and his wife Katherine, daughter of Thomas Whitely of Aston, Flintshire.
