Fine embroidery primarily in tent-stitch.
Tent stich: a plain or diagonal stitchacross one thread of canvas,
linen or other material. It was usually worked in horizontal rows.
This beautifully worked narrative panel is surrounded by a border
of flowers and fruit including thistles, carnation, acorn, pomegranate
and roses, interspersed with small insects.
Four heraldic beasts are worked in each corner.
